Welcome to the Merseyside Junior Chess Webpage!

Junior Chess on Merseyside exists in many forms and we are always looking for more juniors to join in. Junior Chess on Merseyside consists of:

• Junior Chess League
• Junior Chess Congresses
• Merseyside Junior County Teams
• Junior Chess Training days

The Merseyside Junior Chess team is formed from many chess clubs, schools and individuals from all over Merseyside with players from the age 6 to 16 many of whom then go onto play in the Merseyside adult league and National Chess competitions.

Any junior chess player whether a member of a club, school or not can enrol to take part in the Merseyside Junior Chess Congresses or Training events and have the chance to qualify for the Merseyside Junior team and play in competitions against other county teams from across the UK.

Merseyside currently has and Under 14, Under 11 and Under 9 team that compete in National competitions.
